Everyone needs a "Keep Out!" kinda place.
My brothers and I used to make playhouses out of blankets and chairs. Today, one can order a Cape Cod playhouse for a mere $1,400.
When I was a teenager, we used to hang out in a parking lot behind an apartment complex. Not particularly scenic, but it was the place to be. In fact, someone had even given it an official name -- "The Back" -- so it became a true destination, known only to a select few. Although youth still congregate in alleys and cul de sacs, the Internet has become the primary playhouse of today's youth. Screen names have replaced those blankets. And Facebook applications provide hours of entertainment. Why split a beer in a parking lot when you can hurl a sheep at someone after sending him a virtual sock monkey?
