Back in the "love in" era, people were frequently hugging, telling each other how much they dug each other, and sharing food, music (album swapping, not downloading), housing and illegal substances.
Although I can certainly do without the constant hugging part (and I was never big on sharing living space -- see my post on Communal Living), I miss the perpetual outpouring of peace, love and understanding.
The end of the year is always a great time to take stock of all the people who "did you a solid" over the previous 11 months and express gratitude -- in the form of an e-mail or handwritten note, a thoughtful holiday gift (not fruitcake or socks), or simply a phone call to say thanks.
I'm offering a special thanks to anyone who reads and comments on this blog (or my "other" one, theONblog). Post a comment about what YOU are grateful for (prior to midnight on December 31) and I'll send you a small token of my appreciation -- and make a $1 donation to charity for every post I receive.
I love ya, man! Peace out.
Songs of thanks:
Thank You for Your Loving (Elton John: unreleased)
